Because I will be looking at the language used in porn films – as well as using language as a tool myself – I have taken another look at the work of Fiona Banner. Banner uses language as a way of dealing with complex issues such as war and pornography. For her piece Arsewoman in Wonderland, she wrote down with pink paint, everything she saw in an X-rated film on a bill board.
An article in The Guardian produced at the time of this particular exhibition (Tate Britain, Turner prize 2002) comments on the piece: "It's art. But is it porn?"
